Time Out

I just had the best weekend with my Mom and Sister-in-law Charayne.  We went down to St. George and attended "Time out for Women."  It was AWESOME!!!!  We got down there on Friday with just enough time to change clothes, grab a quick bite to eat and get to the Conference center.

It was 3000 women (women only)  packed together in a big room, all there to get some spiritual messages.  I loved it!  On Friday night we were able to hear the most amazing violin music performed by Jenny Oaks Baker.  She is such a gifted performer.  I just sat there mesmerized by her.  We were also able to hear talks by Jason Wright, who wrote "The Wednesday Letters."  He was so funny.  After a break and some more music, we heard from Heidi Swinton and she ended up being one of my favorites of the weekend.  She gave us some great moments that she shared with President Thomas S. Monson while writing his autobiography.

After a late dinner, we headed to bed.  The next morning, we headed over to Grandma Toblers Bakery.  I have been wanting to try it for a few years but just haven't made it there.  We all got different flavored cinnamon roll and shared them.  Yummy!  We then headed back to the Conference center for some more Spiritual Enlightenment.

We were able to hear some great speakers on Saturday.  The music (and most of the comedy) was done by Hilary Weeks.  The speakers were Mariama Kallan, who told her story of growing up in Sierra Leone, Brad Wilcox, Wendy Ulrich, Deann Flynn, Emily Freeman.  I took notes, but I just jotted them down here and there so I don't know who said what.  Here are some of my favorite tidbits.
