Baby Birds- a nice surprise

This year Nick and his friend Drake were outside playing in the front yard and they noticed a bird going in and out of our pine tree.  They got out a ladder and this is what they found.  Actually they found 5 eggs.

We watched them turn in to baby birds.  We ended up with 3 baby birds that made it long enough to fly out out the tree.  Pretty dang cool!!!

4th of July Celebration

This year we decided to stay home from the craziness of the park for fireworks again.  We had a get together with the Slessers again, and did the whole smoked BBQ rib dinner.  YUMMY!!  The kids made t-shirts, and they came up with a mixed family name while doing it.  We are now the SLERRELLS.  Short for Slesser and Burrell.  After dinner, the kids worked really, really hard on making a star on the trampoline, and it was a lot of work as you can see by the pictures, but they finally figured it out.  :)

After dinner and t-shirt making, Shawn and Nick played some Basketball, and then we did fireworks out in front of the house.  It was a casual, easy holiday and I think we plan on making it a lifelong tradition.

An awesome Baseball Season

This year was one of the best Baseball Seasons ever for Nick, and he just finished his 7th year of playing the game.  This year he tried out for the competitive team for Bingham Baseball and he made the "A" team.  Also my mom's cousin Tracy Hendricks Huish has a son that is Nick's age named Chad and he made the same team.  It was fun having someone to chat with at all the games.  Nick was able to travel around a little bit and he played a bunch of different positions this year.  His coach was AMAZING!!!  We had a wonderful time moving around to a bunch of different fields and playing against some teams that were really good.  Nick's team ended up being 3rd or 4th at the end of the tournament, and we were really, really proud of him.  I LOVE watching him play any type of sport but I think that after all these years of watching him play Baseball, it is my favorite.
