It makes me hungry!!

I know I haven't posted for a while but I have been very, very busy. Busy with what you ask? Well, about a month ago Shawn and I went to church and had some very powerful lessons. We both came home and decided together that we really needed to get our food storage in order. Now, I have been working on it as much as possible for the last six months but I hadn't really gotten serious about it. So we decided that NOW was the time. We have been shopping like crazy. Luckily, it was Macey's Caselot time so that has saved us alot of money. And I have gotten alot of help from the website "DealstoMeals.com". Anyway, we now feel prepared. We have a year's supply of the Basics like Wheat, Milk, Sugar, Flour, Pastas, Oats, Rice and Beans. Also we have gotten quite a bit of things like Soups, Condiments, Baking Goods ( I made fudge for the first time yesterday, YEAH ME!!!) Etc. I also bought a Wheat Grinder (which I have already used and loved) and a Water Bath for canning. I left space on my shelves for Salsa ( I have to make alot more this year than I did last year because last year we went through all 16 jars in about a two month time frame.) I also am going to attempt Peaches, Pears, and Pickles. Oh yeah, and Jam. So if any of you have good canning recipes go ahead and e-mail them to me. So, that's why I haven't blogged for a while, I've just been too darn tired. Wheat, Lots of Wheat! Can Rotation System and Powdered Milk.

Baking Goods, Condiments, More Soups, Spaghetti Sauce, Etc.
Flour, Sugars, Rice, and Beans. My very lacking Cereal and Treat Shelves, I will only buy these things on Really Good Deals so these Shelves will take longer to Fill. That's OK, I can always make things from Scratch:)

We also have 4 55gallon drums for water but we still have to fill them. Maybe it will be on Shawn's Honey-do list this weekend:)

Oh my heck, I love all your organized shelving! Looks like a cute little store! Way to go, someday I'll get halfway there!

Looks like you're set and it looks so organized as well. Our storage is full of the bagged food still. We tried to get into the cannery to can the stuff but they were booked for 2 months so we just went ahead and bought it there in the bulk. I am kicking myself now because I know it won't last that way. I need to get my hands on a canner now. SIGH!

Way to go Kathy. I also love the deals to meals blog. I love knowing the "best" prices of all the things I buy all the time. It sounds like you may need a "warm" vacation now that you have done all that hard work. Should be 70s here today.
